The key to a successful digital calculator is picking the correct numbers to focus on. Too many, your prospects get lost. Too few and not enough value is conveyed.
In this episode of Inbound Sales Journey we break down the 5 numbers we use in the Inbound Revenue Calculator.
The 5 Magic Numbers
Let’s jump right into it. The 5 numbers that we use can be seen below. For each of these fields you can either just look at the past month, or take an average over a specific period of months. If you take an average be sure to carry that across all fields.
Average Monthly Website Traffic — Number of website visits the prospect has received last month.
Average Monthly Leads from Your Site – This is the total amount of leads that the prospect has received through their website last month.
Percentage of Qualified Leads – Of the leads the prospect received last month, this is the percentage of those leads that were qualified.
Close Rate – How well their sales team is currently doing closing qualified leads.
Customer Lifetime Value – The average amount of money a customer will spend with their company over the course of their lifetime.
Here is what they look like in the Inbound Revenue Calculator:
Why Those 5 Numbers
When we decided that we wanted to create a digital calculator to help us sell Inbound Marketing GamePlans and retainers at GuavaBox we had to decide what was the quickest way to communicate value.
There are two major goals we always have when bringing on new customers. Increasing traffic and increasing conversion rate. Accomplish both, or even one of those things and it could lead to big dollars for our clients.
But what was realistic, and how much money would they actually gain?
Instead of hypotheticals, we built the answers into the calculator.
The 5 numbers we went over above can be used to calculate real returns the prospect can expect and lays it out in a clear and easy to understand format.
